The ThermoBall is a new synthetic insulation material, developed by The North Face in collaboration with PrimaLoft, intended to provide a viable alternative to goose down.

Unlike traditional continuous-filament synthetic insulations, the small, round PrimaLoft synthetic-fiber clusters closely mimic down clusters, trapping heat within small air pockets to retain warmth. The ThermoBall has a filling power equivalent to 600 fill goose down and it provides similar light weight, loft, warmth and compressibility as down.
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Highly compressible
  • Highly insulating
  • Warm even when wet
