Norrona - Lofoten Warm1 Jacket

The Norrona Lofoten Warm 1 is relatively thin and lightweight fleece jacket (weighting just over 200g) suitable for moderately aerobic activities

The square-shaped polyester fabric that Norrona calls warm™1, is basically identical to the Polartec® Classic Micro used, for example, on the Arc'teryx Delta LT jacket, but just a little thinner. It features a soft chin-protection, elastic wrist bands with thumbholes, and a Polygiene® anti-odour system.

The jacket ensures good thermal insulation and at the same time is sufficiently breathable not to be saturated with sweat, thanks to its extraordinary speed of drying. This garment has an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Great to be worn as a single garment for mild temperatures or as a lightweight insulating layer under a hard shell for cooler temperatures.

The fit is superb.
Extremely comfortable, ergonomic and slightly stretchable, the Norrona Lofoten Warm 1 always guarantees maximum freedom of movement. You'll hardly notice you have it on, also because of its very low weight. We find that on these kind of garments the full-length front zipper is much more practical then the 1/4 length zipper pullover solution. The full-length zip not only allows a wider regulation of temperature without having to remove the backpack or other layers, but it also helps in wearing and taking off the garment.

The high quality of the manufacture and the care for the little details are undoubtedly valuable attributes, for example the elastic fabric of the wrist bands and the soft chin-protection on the zip.

Finally, a very useful feature is the efficient anti-odour treatment. These reduce the need for frequent washings (which is good for the environment) and it lets you keep wearing this garment for a longer time (very useful for long trekking for example).

  • Extremely light (211g)
  • Very rapid drying
  • High comfort and freedom of movement
  • High-quality manufacture down to the little details
  • Efficient anti-odor system
  • Priced too high! Norrona is still completely out of the market
  • low protection from wind when used without any further outer protection layer
